An ancient sage named Paul said something that makes sense, though I really wish he were wrong:
"I try to do good but when I do, I find evil right there within me. Even the good I try to do is actually an extension of my selfishness. It's a catch 22 - The good I want to do I don't do and the stuff I know I shouldn't, I end up doing anyways. I'm hopeless without some help ... a mess!"
"We live on a planet that is amazing, beautiful, and full of wonder but not protected from powerful destructive forces of nature. We are capable of doing wonderful and selfless things but also self-absorbed and harmful things. This is the world we live in." Adam Hamilton
Praying you find the strength to push past the inbuilt desire for selfish and harmful things to make hope and peace a reality in yours and others' lives today.
